Paphos, or Pafos, is a beautiful coastal city in the southwest of Cyprus. According to the legend, it is the Greek love goddess Aphrodite’s birthplace. The legendary “Aphrodite Rock” is probably one of Cyprus’ most photographed views and is located not far east of Paphos.

Tip! The area is an excellent base for adventurous excursions and the best wayto get access to the unique landscape is by a jeep.
In the city, most tourists choose to gather at the charming marina with its long boardwalk that extends throughout the city. We recommend to take an evening stroll at sunset and stop at one of all the nice bars and cafes that you find along the harbour and along the boardwalk. The atmosphere is amazing.
If you only want beach life, Paphos might not be the first choice for your holiday. The long and white sandy beaches are actually not Paphos’ hallmark. But a nice exception is the beautiful Coral Bay located a few kilometres west from Paphos. Coral Bay is the largest and most popular beach in the area and the sand here is a bit coarser but still very fine. We also recommend the beautiful beach Lara – as untamed as desolate. Take your jeep in the direction of the Akamas area and you will reach this beach gem after only a few kilometres. It’s well worth a visit.
In the centre of Paphos, you will find a lovely little beach, where many Cypriots take their morning swim. This is a nice 150-meter long beach with a view of Paphos fortress, and according to us, you can hardly get a nicer view than this on any beach in Cyprus.
