The bridge connects the city’s largest square, Macedonian Square, with the old bazaar (old town) on the other side of the river. Allow yourself to get lost among all the narrow streets and alleys filled with small shops, mosques, and picturesque hamams. Macedonian cuisine is probably the most price worthy in all of Europe, so make sure to experience the cooking of one of the continent’s most underrated nations. On Macedonian menus there is grilled meat and many similar dishes that you can also find in other parts of the Balkans. Make sure to try the national dish Tavče Gravče, fresh beans that are first cooked and then baked in the oven. Another favourite is Pastrmajlija which is a kind of pie with dried meat. Most restaurants have menus in both English and Macedonian.

Macedonia is a very price worthy destination and is considered one of the cheapest countries in Europe. Travelling by bus is super cheap, and likewise are taxis when compared to other European countries. The taximeter starts at as little as 6 SEK and then increases to 3 SEK per kilometer.
